Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about joining our weekly community addiction recovery groups, fees, and facilitators.

Is what I share completely confidential?

Yes. Group confidentiality is central to everything we do, allowing you to speak openly and without fear of judgement. The only exception is if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, which is standard professional therapy practice.

Do I have to speak during the session?

While we encourage everyone to share their experiences when ready, it is never mandatory. If you prefer to simply sit and listen while you settle in, that is entirely welcome.

Who leads the group therapy sessions?

Every session is co-facilitated by Gary and Fabio, who bring more than 40 years of joint experience. Gary holds a 1st Class Honours in Social Sciences, an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, is NCPS-registered, and previously worked as an NHS substance misuse specialist. Fabio is BACP-accredited in Integrative Counselling with extensive prior experience at the Priory.

What stages of recovery is this group suitable for?

The group is best suited for individuals who are currently abstinent or who are stable on prescribed medication and actively working towards complete abstinence.

How much does a session cost and how do I pay?

We pride ourselves on transparent, affordable support with absolutely no hidden costs. Payment is made by card or cash at the end of each session. Furthermore, if you attend and feel the group is not the right fit for you, you can walk out with no charge.

Can I also access one-to-one therapy?

Yes. Alongside our community group sessions, individual 1:1 therapy is available. You can speak directly with Gary or Fabio to discuss whether individual sessions would complement your recovery.

How do I join my first group session?

You do not need a GP referral or a complex onboarding process. Simply explore our session schedule, reach out if you have any quick initial queries, or come along to our community meeting space in Walton on Thames , Surrey.
